NW6 install on Compaq ML370 G3 fails

We upgraded the BIOS P28 on a Compaq ML370 G3 and the RAID Controller BIOS (Ultra3 BIOS ver 3.02.03) using Smart Array 3.5.4 and now the install of NetWare 6 fails on the Java portion of the install. Is there some incompatability? Should we downgrade the BIOS levels? NW6 was running on this box before the upgrades.
