P400 Boot Drive Selection

Hi all, have a DL380G5 with P400 raid controller, have a raid 0 set (don't ask...) for the boot drive and one of the disks is about to fail. Its running redhat enterprise and I have used dd to clone the drive to a new single raid 0 disk, however the server will not find this as a boot device, and there appears to be nothing in the CLI to select which logical drive to boot from, any ideas?
