P440ar Controller Cache Module Degraded with new Smart Storage Battery p/n p01366-B21

I have ProLiant DL380 Gen9 server. The iLO found out that the battery(P/N 727258-B21) of the raid controller (P440ar) died. We purchased a battery, but already with a different P / N p01366-B21 (according to the recommendations on the official HP website https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=a00040078en_us), since the batteries with the required part number have already ceased to be produced. Replaced the battery observing all safety precautions. I turned on the server - the battery was degrated, and the old P / N is displayed in iLO. I thought about it, I decided that it was necessary to update the firmware on the server (although it was indicated on the HP office site that you do not need to update the firmware to use the version 2.0 battery ). I Downloaded Service Pack for ProLiant P45315_001_gen9spp-2021.10.0-Gen9SPP2021100.2021_1021.32.iso, updated. The situation has not changed at all. Smart array firmware version remains the same(ver 7). And the battery part number in iLO displays the old one. A hypervisor ESXi v6.7 is installed on the server.

maybe Is the new battery defective? Or maybe the new battery is not compatible with the controller?

I have restarted iLo (2.78), but no change.  What could be the problem?

Hello,

Greetings!

The battery that you have purchased seems to be compatible with the controller.

Also from the screenshot I understand that the battery reports faulty.

For iLO reporting the old battery, please detach the battery connection and then check the result in iLO.
If possible, please test with a good known battery to further narrow down as the replacement battery could be faulty.

If you feel this was helpful please click the KUDOS! thumb below and accept the solution.
