POST Error: 1793-Drive Array - Array Accelerator Battery Depleted - Data Loss
So my question is, without rebooting the system (this is vmware ESX with 8 production hosts) to see if the error message returns, how do i verify if the battery is recharged, and i can ignore this issue as possibly due to an improper shutdown, or if i have a dead battery on this thing.
thanks!

Re: POST Error: 1793-Drive Array - Array Accelerator Battery Depleted - Data Loss
You can use Array Configuration utility to check the status of controller and battery.
Please check the following article for installation instructions:

Re: POST Error: 1793-Drive Array - Array Accelerator Battery Depleted - Data Loss
Check the below recommended action.
POST Error :1793
Description :Slot x Drive Array - Array Accelerator Battery Depleted. Data in Array Accelerator has been lost. (Error message 1794 also displays.)
Recommended Action : While the system was in use, power was interrupted while data was in the Array Accelerator memory. Power was not restored within four days, and data in the Array Accelerator was lost. Check all files for potential data corruption.
-Or-The Array Accelerator batteries have become discharged while the system was off for an extended period (Array Accelerator board Rev. A or earlier).
-Or-The controller was replaced with one that was on the shelf for an extended period; batteries are temporarily discharged (Array Accelerator Rev. A or earlier).
Erdogan.

Re: POST Error: 1793-Drive Array - Array Accelerator Battery Depleted - Data Loss
If the battery can't hold memory for the minimum time, defined by HP. The Smart Array will disable write cache.
So if no battery or failed battery => no writecache => no unwritten data in cache
If you want to check if the battery is sufficient charged, without reboot, you must install some tools, on VMWare.
Install the insight agents, and use the system management home page.
or install the Array Configuration utility.
You can try: Look in the IML, through the ILo. I just don't believe it will update without the system health drivers.
