Predictive failure, but the ILO disk # doesnt match the Disk Led
DL350 Gen10
I got 8 disks in Raid 10
ILO says: predictive fail: Port 1 Box 3 Bay 2
However, on the fysical disk array, disk 6 flashes amber/green (= The drive is a member of one or more logical drives and predicts the drive will fail.)
And disk 2 has the red led on for not removing the disk.
So…which disk do I need to replace? 2 or 6?

Re: Predictive failure, but the ILO disk # doesnt match the Disk Led
Hello,
Typically the box number and bay numbering is impacted by the cabling. If the cabling is not plugged into the correct locations it can cause the drive notifications to not match the physical bay numbering on the front of the server. Every drive cage and cable is only capable of supporting up to 4 drives in the vast majority of HPE Proliant servers. If the cables are reversed it may result in bay 2 showing up as bay 6 (or vice versa).
I would recommend, if possible, accessing the Smart Storage Administrator (SSA) which is available to run on top of many OS's to verify which drive has the problem. The SSA also has the ability to cause the drive LED's to light, so if you get a notificiation in SSA about a "problem" drive you can then cause the LED to light up. If you do not have SSA installed on the OS or cannot install it, then this is also available to be run from within Intelligent Proviioning to confirm the exact drive.
Regards
