problem with fan noise

I have a ProLiant ML110 Gen10 server The fans are so loud that you can't stand them and they only run at 20% the server has no temperature load: are at 35/40 degrees Is it possible to slow down the fan? debian system

Hello,

If there are any third party components, please remove them and check if it is resolved. If so, then it is because of the system compensating for that installed devices as it does not have temperature sensor supplying information to the server's iLO like an HPE option.

If there are no thrid party components, then it could help reseat internal components such as PCIe cards, fans etc. In case any fan is defective, replace it with known working spare and check if the issue is resolved. If so then the issue isolates to the defective fan. 

If the issue persists, then update the server's iLO firmware. After the iLO's firmware is updated, then update the server's BIOS. Restart the server and check if the issue is resolved.
