Problem with HP Embedded SATA on ML 150G3
I'm trying to install WinServer 2003 SBS on a ML 150G3 with 2 x 160GB SATA drives using the HP embedded SATA (to configure RAID 1)
During the setup, the system allows me to add in the additional driver (Adaptec SATA driver for Windows 2000/XP/2003) via a usb drive, however after creating the intended partition and contiune into the setup the system asked to insert the driver in floppy drive A:,setup don't seems to be able to read from the usb floppy drive! and I can not contiune to install windows anymore.
I've done almost every thing that I can think of but don't seems to get any where.
Change a few different USB floppy drive..
flash the bios to the latest.
Thanks in advance and best regards.

Re: Problem with HP Embedded SATA on ML 150G3
This should help you..
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1052883
Also try this:
1. From system bios setup ( F10 ) enable legacy USB support & then try to connect the USB drive from both front & rear USB ports
2. Repeat above step with legacy USB support disabled.
Hope this works!!!

Re: Problem with HP Embedded SATA on ML 150G3
I have the bios flash to the latest, Build 08/29/2006, however it didn't work. And there is no such setting as you had mention.
you will only have limited option when you press F10 and go to >Advanced > USB Configuration USB Controller
USB 2.0 Controller
the problem is it detected the USB floppy and loads the driver into the memory just one time and will not read from the floppy again when windows asked for the driver in drive A:
I may have to work on your second suggestion.
will update if this works.
Cheers

Re: Problem with HP Embedded SATA on ML 150G3
Here is a link with all posible answers:
Before going there I think that the most cheap, trustable and practical in all purpose is by making an slipstream CD ( Embedding the drivers in the WIN-OS CD )

Problem Solved + WIN-OS CD Backup with drivers inlcuded = 2 birds in 1 shot

Re: Problem with HP Embedded SATA on ML 150G3
Solution1: Connect an internal diskette station (fdd), possible problem: there is't a connector for fdd
Solution2: Try to get your hands on a usb floppy drive from HP or Toshiba(only some versions works)
Solution3: Create an unattended setup with your raid drivers slipstreamed (more info:http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/36/ )
