problem with P440 and ST1200MM0088 disks
Hi,
I have a problem with an ML150 Gen 9 server in which a P440 raid card with firmware 6.06 is mounted.
I have purchased 8 Seagate ST1200MM0088 disks, the controller recognizes them but does not allow me to do any activity on the disks or create arrays, it returns the error that the disks cannot support raid, by configuring the controller in HBA the disks are correctly reknowledged by the operating systems but they are inaccessible and cannot be partitioned or anything.
From documentation I could not find anything about disk compatibility with this controller.
Do you have any ideas what the problem might be?
Many thanks

Re: problem with P440 and ST1200MM0088 disks
Hello,
The controller supports HPE hard drives as the controller and the HPE hard drives are designed and built to create the RAID arrays, the controller is capable of.
Third party drives are sometime detected by the controller, but the communication between them and the controller does not happen as that of HPE hard drives which so designed and built for. Please refer to the HPE ProLiant ML150 Gen9 Server's QuickSpecs, section "Core Options > HPE drives" for more information on recommended HPE drives.
Regards,
