Problems with Smart Start Options
I'm trying to configure the drives in a 6400R, my normal course of action would be to use the ACU (Array Configuration Utility) right off of the CD configure the array and then go ahead and install the OS.
If I boot to the system partition, I get an option to use the ACU, then it prompts me to insert a floppy drive which it tries to boot the ACU from. If I leave the SmartStart CD in the drive and boot from that there is no ACU option available to me.
I am aware that since ver 2.xx of the ACU it is no longer installed on the system partition, but why is it asking for a floppy and why can't I run the ACU directly from the SmartStart CD?
I'm using release 5.10 of the SmartStart Set.
Cheers

Re: Problems with Smart Start Options
the most likely reason is that the smartstart cd is picking up some sort of older configuration on your system...run the erase utility (data destructive) and clear your nvram..then try again..
second to make sure is that you actually have an array controller in the system....if not then the acu cannot be used
