Proliant DL380 Gen9 no bootable devices
Hello everybody.
I've a problem with my dl380.
The Smart Storage Battery burned out yesterday after a general power outage and now the system can't boot with error "no bootable devices".
I've replaced the disk and reinstalled linux.
The system work perfectly: I've rebooted many times without problems.
But if I remove power supply for 1 minute and re-plug the power, the message appeare again
No bootable devices were detected.
Please attach a UEFI bootable device.
The only solution I've found is:
- press F11
- Run a UEFI application from a file system
- select the grubx64.efi from the GPT Slot 3 Smart Array P840 Controller
Any idea to solve this problem?

This is not a solution.
Why can I install a system using default BIOS settings and removing the power cord the system reset the disk?

Re: Proliant DL380 Gen9 no bootable devices
Hello,
The server loosing the boot device might indicate that the CMOS battery may also be exhausted. If there is a working one, please replace it, set the boot device. If there is no production load or any sensitive data on the server, then see by removing the power cables while the server is working and re-connect and see if the issue is resolved.

Re: Rif.: Query: Proliant DL380 Gen9 no bootable devices
Hello @ sphawek
Thank you for your post.
1. Please perform a complete power drain.
2. Check for any entries in ILO > IML.
3. Use a good known CMOS battery and Power cable.
Regards
HPE
