Proliant ML 360 G6 Esxi 4.1 Firmware Update Disaster
Urgent Problem
I made a firmware update on a Proliant ML 360 G6 with Direct Attached Storage. SAS Disks.
After Boot I cant access the Storage with the VMs. It was a big shock for me.
I updated the Bios and the Smart Array P410 with the HP Firmware Maintence DVD 9.20.
What can I do to access the storage???
Its a productive Machine.
best regards
Olivier

Re: Proliant ML 360 G6 Esxi 4.1 Firmware Update Disaster
- could you check your logical volumes status inside ACU - during booting server?
- is it internal array or some kind of DAS?

Re: Proliant ML 360 G6 Esxi 4.1 Firmware Update Disaster
Logical drive(s) disabled due to possible data loss.
Select "F1" to continue with logical drive(s) disabled
Select "F2" to accept data loss and to re-enable logical drive(s)
RESUME = "F1" OR "F2" KEY
Then I pressed F2 and now the datastore is again available. My boss would kill me when the VMS was destroyed. Fortunately the datastore are accesible again.
I remember the Firmware Upgrade DVD would upgrade the Harddisks but failed. Should I upgrade the Disk from hpd5 to hpd6, because of the new Smart Array Firmware???
