Prolient 380DL gen 10 Plus and U.2 drive setup

Hi

I resently orderd a HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus (P55245-B21) server. Unfortunatly I'm having trouble getting it to even recognise my U.2 drives. The server has a Broadcom MegaRAID MR416i-p controler and I think the part number for the backplane is P39781-001. I've not used U.2 drives before but I'm assuming I should be able to manage them from the usual controler interface? Are there any settings I need to adjust to allow the drives to be detected?

It seems like you sent a list of firmware/software updates from 2021. I have the latest service pack installed:

System ROM                                                     U46 v1.72 (02/02/2023)

8 SFF 24G x1NVMe/SAS UBM3 BC BP           Firmware: 1.20                    Slot=1:Port=1:Box=3
8 SFF 24G x1NVMe/SAS UBM3 BC BP           Firmware: 1.20                    Slot=1:Port=1:Box=3

HPE MR416i-p Gen10+                                    Firmware: 52.22.3-4650     PCI-E Slot 1

Are you recomending I try an older driver?

No, there is no BIOS Setting or GUI configuration for this Controller.

It just does a Raid 1 over both M2, nothing to configure.

You should see only one M2. device on your Operating System.

No Driver, no config needed.

Use iLO to check if the Card is seen here and to set the Boot Order.

RAID 1 would be ideal this is what I see in the ILO. It's U.2 drives I'm using but they don't seem to be being picked up by the controler.

This looks strange.

Are you using M.2 which is delivered with the Controller in the Box, or your own?
For us, the M.2 is not inserted into the controller, we have to place them on our own and also have to rearrange the blue holder.

Maybe, the M.2 did have not full contact or slipped out by the transport.

I'm not using an M.2 drive I'm using a U.2 NVMe drive which is in the 2.5inch form factor and fits into the 8xSFF cage at the front.

Oh sorry, I'm totally wrong.
Why ever, I assume you have the NS204 Controller.
Forget everything I say so long.

So, the MR416 has a Raid Setup Menu check this:
