Hello everyone.
I'm facing a "x64 Exception Type 0D - General Protection Exception" error during initalization in a ProLiant DL360 Gen9 Server. Initalization goes up to 53% then the error shows.
Photos and video of the error.
The above post recommends removing the RAID controller but it didn't help me.
I've also tried using the redundant ROM but neither the server guide nor user guide lists the steps necessary to do it. What I did was set S1, S5, and S6 system maintenance switches to On, powered up the server and waited several minutes. No beeps or onscreen messages, so I powered off the server and changed the switches back. Nothing changed when powered on. Same error.
The next step I think it will be clearing NVRAM. Do setting S6 to On and powering up acomplishes this? Do I need to do something else?
Suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

Hello,
You may refer to the document titled "HPE ProLiant BL460c Gen9 Server - Red Screen of Death (RSOD) - "x64 Exception Type 0D тАУ General ProtectionException" and see if it helps.

SolutionHello,
Upon reviewing the shared nsapshots, looks like the server has encountered RSOD.
Basically RSOD can be caused due to a failed HW or a mismatch firmware.
What activity was performed to encounter this issue?
Try the below to isolate the issue.
1. Remove all the PCI cards ans check if the server boots.
What if the issue fixes?
Start adding the PCI cards one after another and isolate the card causing the RSOD and get it replaced.
What if the issue perists even after remaining all the PCI cards?
Clear NV Ram.
power down the server
disconnect the power plugs
open the server
Now you have to identify the system maintenance switch.
At the server cover you can find a plan to locate the switch.
Now change position 6 of the system maintenance switch from the default position тАЬoffтАЭ to тАЬonтАЭ
connect the power plugs and power up the server
The following message will be displayed:
Maintenance switch detected in the ON position. The system is being default configured. This may take a few minutesтАж Power off the server and toggle the maintenance switch to the OFF position.
shut down the server and disconnect the power plugs
change position 6 back to тАЬoffтАЭ
connect the power plugs and power up the server.
If issue still persists, log a case with HPE.
Cheers...

Thanks for the help.
