RAID 0+1 drive replacement

I was given a DL380 G3 server that contained 6 72gig drives configured into one large logical drive.

One of the drives failed (predictive) and I need to replace it. I don't see any options in the ACU and/or ROM to replace the drive with a new one? Can someone please advise on what I need to do?

Re: RAID 0+1 drive replacement

there is no option for that since you found there is a faulty HDD and since they are Hot Plug and of course in a Fault tolerance RAID like RAID 1 - 5 or 6 you just take the faulty HDD out and insert a new in the same slot the rebuild process will take place automatically

I should have been more clear, they are in a RAID 0+1 array.

Re: RAID 0+1 drive replacement

Thanks for the info. Just realized the replacement drive is a 15K version, can it be intermingled with 10K drives? Thanks for the help...

no problem neither 10k and 15K can be mixed

Re: RAID 0+1 drive replacement

This was strange. I tried inserting the new drive multiple times, however the ACU would tell me it was missing.

After a reboot (with the bad drive in), I was able to swap the drive and start the rebuild (auto). Thanks for the help.
