RAID Cache Card Change out / Upgrade P420i

I have a ML350p Gen 8 tower server with an integrated p420i, and only a 512mb cache with battery. 

Is it possible to power everything down, and swap the cache to a new 2gb cache with battery without damaging the array? Is there any special procedure I should worry about, or is this straight forward like swapping RAM?

New part is HP 631681-B21 2gb P-Series Smart Array Flash Backed Write Cache.

Hi,

the Raid configuration is stored on the Disks.

You can safely replace the whole Controller or Cache if the Server is powered down.
