RAID Rebuild Smart Array 641 & Proliant ML350
Hi Everyone,
We recently had a disk problem on our Proliant ML350 (i know, old) where the drive was "expected to fail". unfortunately we did not recieve the hard drive in time. The hard drive went offline and we finally got to replace the failed hard drive, well the rebuild starts but between 5-10 minutes it just stops the ACU says; code 776 ready for recovery logical disk it queued for rebuild. I tried doing a restart and selecting the F1 option to automatically restore but that did not work. I am including the ADU report so anyone can see what the problem might be and what the best course of action should be. Hopefully a total rebuild of the array is not necessary.
Thanks,
Richie

Re: RAID Rebuild Smart Array 641 & Proliant ML350
hi,
I took a look at the report - there are 3 drives, which should be replaced. The FW of the controller is very old version.
regards,

Re: RAID Rebuild Smart Array 641 & Proliant ML350
From what I see in the report looks like it is 1:5 hard drive that has been replaced which was part of raid 5
1:1 ok
1:2 41569 Read errors
1:3 ok
1:4 ok
1:5 Failed drive already replaced
need to repalce 1:2 and array needs to be recreated as array will not be rebuilt because of read errors on 1:2
