Remote Power ON
Hello all,
I have taken over responsibility for our sister companies sevrers. They have are running HP Servers which I am not too familiar with.
HP Proliant DL320 G2
HP Proliant DL360 G4
HP Proliant DL380 G4
Recently the electrician had to cut power for half a day and I then had to hike back to the office to turn them all on.
Is there an easy way to remote power these servers ON?
(with the dell servers we have, there is a magic packet i can send which does it) something similar would be great.
Thanks in advance
Stephen

Re: Remote Power ON
With the possible exception of the DL320, the servers you list should have built-in Remote Insight Lights-Out (ILO) capability. This takes the form of a built-in web page which, among other things, permits remote control over the server's front panel power switch.
Take a look at the back panel of each of the servers. If you see a separate network jack labeled 'ILO,' the capability is there.
Some searching on the forums should net you quite a bit of info on ILO, and I can also give you more details if you need such (I just implemented it on my own systems).
Happy tweaking.
