remove hotspare disk and add that to axtend a array with raid 5

hi all,

I have a HP DL380 gen9 server with a Smart Array P440ar/2GB controller.

1 logical drive raid 5 is configured with 3 disk, and 1 hotspare.

Is it possible to remove the hotspare disk and use that to extend my array?

Hello,

Welcome to the community!!

You have to unassign the hot-spare disk after that expand the raid.

Run SSA, select the array (see sample picture) and click manage data drives, then you can add an available diskAdding Disk.PNG

I would request you to take the complete data before performing the activity.
