S3 (Suspend to RAM / Standby) on Proliant N40L ?
Hi, I just found out that there is a successor (N40L) of the very nice Proliant Microserver N36L out! I wonder (as I did on the N36L) if, even that the N40L has the very same chipset with "just" a faster CPU, is now finally capable of going into S3 state. Since the chipset is supporting it but the BIOS of the N36L did not i wonder if HP has heard our complaints and has enabled this function. Best regards Christian

Re: S3 (Suspend to RAM / Standby) on Proliant N40L ?
I am hoping that they will reconsider for the N36L. Given the growth of its use as a Home server (rather than Business server) and the need be green, it should really be there, Also, even small Businesses, concious of the cost of energy, would want it for when their staff are not at work overnight/weekends.
Although I can understand why a manufacturer may not wish to add new features to a box, I really can't understand why they would remove existing features that are supported by the hardware they sell.
Is there a HP equivalent of a "Suggestions Box" where this can be placed?

You could try the contact HP link on a page like this:
