Hello Team,
I have an HP DL360p Gen 8 and it was suddenly powered off. I'm checking if we have a power issue. However, I could find the following messages in the logs:
Server power Removed
System Power Fault Detected (XR:30 00 MID: FF 0D FC 06 FF FF 2F 2F 0C 0C C2 C1 00 00 40 00 8A 00 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00)
Does someone know what this code means? And if it points us to an internal or external issue?
Thank you!

SolutionHi, It appears to be SAS backplane causing this issue, Try to disconnect the Drive backplane and check the status, server should power on., If its isolated you can replace it or contact HPE support if server is under warranty/contract.
Clear NVRAM/ CMOS settings and check:
- Remove all power supplies from the server,
- Locate the System Maintenance Switch on the motherboard - It's a set of 10 DIP switches.
- Turn switch #6 switch on. (S6)
- Insert all power supply units.
- Power on the server and allow it to idle for 3 minutes.
- Power the server off.
- Remove all power supplies.
- Return DIP switch #6 to off (original) position.
- Reinsert the power supplies.
- Power the server on.

Re: Server DL360p Gen 8 suddenly powered off - find a message code in the logs
Hello,
For clearing the server's NVRAM/CMOS settings, you may refer to item 11 of picture "System board components" on page 12 of the HP ProLiant DL360p Gen8 Server User Guide for the location of the system maintenance switch on the system board.
In addition to clearing the server's NVRAM/CMOS settings, you may consider updating the following firmware as well:
- Power Management Controller
- HP Gen8 Server Backplane Expander Firmware for HP Smart Array Controllers and HP HBA Controllers
- iLO 4 firmware
- Server's BIOS
Restart the server after installing each of the above component firmware.
Regards,

Re: Server DL360p Gen 8 suddenly powered off - find a message code in the logs
We replaced the power cords and the server is stable for now, I'll check the NVRAM clear procedure in case it happens again.
Thanks team!
