Simple iLO question
Hi All,
Can someone please tell how can I remotely shutdown the server and then turn it on whenever I want using iLO?
I am using iLO2 and iLO3 on two different servers.
in iLO power options i can see buttons for: Momentary Press, Press & Hold, Cold Boot and Reset.
None of these button shutsdown the server and then turns it on on user`s requirement. Please correct me if I am wrong.
many thanks

Re: Simple iLO question
If the OS is ACPI aware, momentary press should do a gracefull shutdown.
Press and Hold will force the server to power off.
Cold boot is like removing power and restarting.
Reset is like a warm boot
I use these features daily on various servers using iLO2 and iLO3

Re: Simple iLO question
On our bl460c with RHEL it shuts down with press/hold probably momentary press. We have the default BIOS settings.
