Slow disk transfer rates, 1.3 mb/sec

I have the above server and I'm not able to get a disk transfer rate of more than 1.3 mb/cc. The configuration is as follows

4.3G Wide Ultra SCSI-3 on first on board SCSI channel
36G (3x18g Hot Plug Wide Ultra SCSI-3 drives) array on a Smart Array-2SL controller
System has 256mb RAM both drives are NTFS5

I copy a 310mb data set from one drive to the other. I also have tried copying it to the same drive but still I get a slow through put.

Any ideas?

Have you installed a latest Rompaq for this system?? Try installing the latest avilable SCSI drivers for this model.
