Hello everyone, i just joined the community today !
Today's case concerns a warranty issue on the DL380 Gen 10. We've replaced the drive, memory, and NIC. While everything seems to be functioning properly, I'm still worried about the rebuilding time.
For context, there are 24 bays in total. Two use RAID 1, and the rest use RAID 6. The drive I replaced is part of the RAID 6 array. The iLO reports that the drive is good, but the Smart Array still shows a yellow triangle warning sign.
Given this scenario, can I be confident about the drive's status? I understand that after replacing a drive, it should start rebuilding—a process that can take a while.
If anyone has resources or experience with RAID and rebuilding, I'd appreciate you sharing them with me. Any insights would be incredibly helpful.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best,
Your Gen Z Junior

Re: Smart Array, Rebuilding, an Raid
Dear NewEng
Replaced drive taking time to complete rebuilding proccess, time consumption depends on HDD and RAID volume capacity. till time there is amber LED glowing on HDD as well as blinking on HDD. once rebuilding proccess completed, it auto matically amber sign gone. you can check your rebuild status online by installing HPE Smart Storage Administrator / HPE MegaRaid Storage Administrator depends on your server controller. also you can create, delete or modifiy logical drive from here online.
Hope, I could provide you with clear and helpful instructions. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask. I'm here to help! Have a great day!
Thanks & Regards...
Rabindra
