Smart Chache on P840/4G

Hi All!

I´m looking for someone that can point me in the right direction configuring the SSD cache on the P840 Controller.

I Have a DL-180 G9 with x7 HDD 1tb (in Raid 5 configuration) Disk and x1 SSD 120 Gb disk (in raid 0 configuration). All of these disk are connected to the P840/4G card.

Im triying to setup that SSD for read cache, however i unable to find the configuration for that,

The P840/4G has the latest firmware.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks!

Hi.
I'm assuming you are talking about HPE SmartCache?
First of all SmartCache requires a SmartCache license.

Here is a guide how you enable HPE SmartCache with HPE Smart Storage Administrator if you have a licens installed:

Hi!

Yes, i´m talking about the HPE SmartCache.

I´m unable to find the option for create a ssd cache volume on the built-in Hp SSA.

However i was able to configure this thru esxi cli:

./ssacli ctrl slot=1 create type=ldcache drives=1I:2:8 datald=1 forced

Thanks Cederberg
