SmartCache - What size SSDs to use?

I'm thinking about implementing SmartCache on one of our servers and am trying to figure out what size SSDs I should use. There are two arrays that I want to enable caching for:
- 1.2TB (2x 1.2TB SAS HDD - RAID 1)
- 2.4TB (8x 600GB SAS HDD - RAID 10)

Would it be best to get SSDs to match the usable size of the array, or would smaller disks be sufficient? Will a different cache array be required for each of the main arrays or can both use the same cache array?

Also, would it be best to set up the SSDs in RAID 1 to ensure no write cache is lost if a drive fails?
