SmartStart 7.40 and ACU Instructions
First time using ACU - I have added a 4 drive in a 3 drive raid 5 array. All drives are same sixe. It was successfully added and I save config to controller - currently system is still sitting in SmartStart software and drives look to be expanding. Can I reboot now to the Windows OS or do I have to wait until the expansion conpletes?

Re: SmartStart 7.40 and ACU Instructions
Hi William,
I would suggest you do not reboot the server until the expansion is complete since the expansion would be re-writing/rebuilding the existing data/parity to the newly added drive.
Expansion would take sometime depending on the capacity of the hdd and the exisiting data in the hdds.
Hope this explains!!!!!!!
Regards,
rmn

Re: SmartStart 7.40 and ACU Instructions
Thanks for getting back to me - my concern now is that is has take since 4pm yesterday and it is now 7:20pm eastern and it is still only on 35% complete. There are 3 36.4GB drives in the original array and I added another 36.4GB drive. Should it take this long? So far I have not seen any errors, just the normal message stating that it is working.
