SPP Upgrade failed
Hi,
i am using an HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Server and running Windows Server 2022 on it.
Now i downloaded "P76090_001_gen10spp-2024.11.00.00-SPP2024110000.2024_1113.16" from official HP site and tried to install several updates but receiving following error: Warning - Firmware update is being performed on the target system OS which is not supported by selected SPP baseline. Proceeding further may result in potential issues. HPE doesn't recommended to continue with the updates using this baseline on unsupported target OS.
Any ideas how i can fix it?
Kind regards

You call that an answer?! I have exactly the same problem. Your videos are out-of-date.

Re: SPP Upgrade failed
Having the same issue as above. The SPP baseline says that Server 2022 is supported, but when you try to run the updates it gives the same message.
I can't seemingly post screenshots for some reason, but I am running Server 2022 Datacenter, using SPP 2024.11.00.00 with the baseline file found in ISO\packages folder.

Re: SPP Upgrade failed
Hi @OrangeMerlin ,
The Windows 2022 21H2 version may be causing the compatibility warning.
I suggest you to use Windows server 2022 which is specifically designed for server environments.
If the issue persists, I suggest you to try these steps:
1. Download the Windows 2022 OS support pack. Refer Installation instructions to install it.
2. Try upgrade to the latest SPP
Thank you!
Hope this information has helped you, Please click on the "Thumbs Up/Kudo" icon as a token of appreciation. Also, if this post has helped to solve your issue, consider marking this as an "Accepted Solution".

Re: SPP Upgrade failed
Hi @Harshitha_K ,
unfortunately this does not change anything. We already had installed 2024.11 baseline on our 2022 21H1 server and got the compatibility warning when we tried to update to PSP 2025.01 today.
The 2022 OS support pack you mentioned has outdated firmware & drivers, so trying to install it just gives the message: "Node already has one or more installed components with version higher than the version available in the baseline."
Is it safe to install Gen10 Service Packl for ProLiant Version 2025.01.00.00. on Windows Server 2022 21H1?

Re: SPP Upgrade failed
I'm seeing the same thing. I first noticed this warning in the 2024.11 SPP so I did not install, thinking it might be resolved in a future update. But 2025.01 is showing the same warning. DL380 Gen10 Windows 2022 LTSC, with January 2025 Windows updates installed.
Prior to 2024.11 SPP I never saw this warning.

Re: SPP Upgrade failed
Hello,
Just wanted to say I'm facing the same issue.
Windows Server 2022 21H2
Official SPP 2024.11 from HPE website.
SUM 11.1 started from the SPP ISO
Whenever this error occurs we also get the message like this in the logs;
"HP OneView is managing this server and it is configured for specific version of SPP. It cannot be updated to a different version directly using SUM"
In OneView the baseline is set to 2024.11 though.
When I immediately try again it sometimes does go through.
We are using CLI to perform the update from the OS:
*driveletter*\packages\smartupdate.bat /s /r /ignore_tpm /ignore_warnings /ilo_username *username* /ilo_password *username* /logdir C:\temp
I contacted our HPE support to see if they can figure something out.

Re: SPP Upgrade failed
I proceeded with the update of all the applicable components, and all seemed to install properly. I wonder if that warning is incorrect?
We don't use Openview, and I installed SPP locally using the ISO

Re: SPP Upgrade failed
Good news! I no longer get the warning when using the latest SPP (03.2025) released on April 3
