We have a Proliant Micro Server Gen8 with 1 CPU, 2x8GB RAM and 4 1TB discs on RAID 5 configuration. We wanted to replace discs with new ones on new RAID setup. However When I open Intelligent Provisioning and Smart Storage Administrator I'm getting "No controller detected" error. However we were using RAID configuration past few years. I checked with BIOS setup with this link advisory https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=c03456411&docLocale=en_US . I'm able to see controller "HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i RAID Controller v3.54.0" thorugh BIOS and POST screen but not thorugh SSA and Intelligent Provisioning and I'm able to see discs on SSA diagnostics report and Intelligent Provisioning reports. Hence I'm not able to setup RAID configuration. Also I tried to change SATA setup via BIOS again I dont see controller on SSA. I checked web, HPE support documentation and support community with various keywords to find same or similar problems. So far I couldn't find any usefull solution for this error. (I also update Intelligent Provisioning version to 2.71.134)

Re: SSA Controller not detected issue
Hello,
You may try re-installing the Intelligent Provisioning using the Intelligent Provisioning Recovery Media.

SolutionWe already did that to upgrade with version 2.71.134. Furthermore I found a documentation about Array Controller Utility (ACU). It was stating that HP Dynamic Smart Array B120i RAID Controller can be configure thorugh ACU instead SSA. We managed to setup a disc array and RAID 1+0 (it was the only option unfortunately). In order to do that we used this https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/softwaredetails?language=en_US&softwareId=MTX_3c888073127c4c65b7bd8559eb to create bootable USB-key then setup the discs.

Re: SSA Controller not detected issue
Hello Yasar,
We understand that you have found an alternate solution.
But the 2.x version of Intelligent Provisioning is for Gen9 servers whereas the 1.x version of the same is for Gen8 servers.
Hence we would recommend you to install the Gen8 compatible Intelligent Provisioning and check in the ACU/SSA utility from the same.
