System getting 1762 Error
I got a problem, I am fixing this machine for a friend and the it is coming up with an error - 1762-Unsupported Protected Mode Disk Operation. Says a DOS driver is needed, but lookin on compaqs site I can not find a driver for DOS for the proliant 1500 anywhere, anyone know what this is all about... I am trying to fix his WIn95 install, and he has changed the autoexec and config files, along with deleting files so I can't find out where or what driver was supposed to be being loaded. I also noticed that the machine is supposed to be a pentium 133 but it boots as a 100, am I to assume that someone has messed with some MB jumper settings? I did check the chip to make sure it wasn't replaced, but the 133 is there.
Thanks for any replies.
Ken

Re: System getting 1762 Error
The serial number provided does show this to be a 100mhz. It could be showing 100mhz at post due to the processor board. It is a different part number for the 100 vs the 133. Can I have that part number please.
For the error you will need SP1146. Please follow this link:

Re: System getting 1762 Error
I tried those files, but they keep giving me an incorrect dos version, and the file
SCSIC710.SYS seems to be corrupt every time I copy it, tried multiple disks and
multiple computers with the same results.

Re: System getting 1762 Error
Hello Ken,
Did you run System Configuration Utility on the Server?? If not then please download SP19619. You will be given two options: One to upgrade System partition and other run System configuration. Please pick the second choice. This will reset the Hardware in your system and resources are assigned properly.
