System won't POST
My ProLiant 5000 tower powered up with no POST or video, but with hard drive lights and fan. I powered down, removed the side cover and noticed that the top memory bank was complelely unseated. I put it back in, reattached the cover and all cables, but now the LED's flicker every ~20 seconds and now no boot at all, no POST, no video, etc. That's supposed to indicate a system short.
I've reseated all cards, checked all cables for metal touching metal, resecured all cables, checked for loose connectors, etc. No luck. Even removing the memory board again doesn't help.
I've looked at other messages in this forum, but nothing posted works.
Any ideas? I'd love to get back up and running within a few days.
Thanks in advance,
Damon

Re: System won't POST
First see the Maintenance and Service guide at this web address.
http://www5.compaq.com/support/techpubs/maintenance_guides/219470-001.html
Open the system, then unplug and reseat all cards, cables and connections. Make sure the processors, processor power modules and memory are all fully installed. Also make sure the covers are completly close, so that the cover interlocks will allow the system to power up. If you are unable to get the system to POST and boot, open a warranty service call with Compaq technical support at 1-800-652-6672.
