Will not Boot
Like other posts here, I have 3 - 5000's will exhibit the same problem over the last several months. All will probably reboot, then die. Usually take off cover, slam dunk all cards, and it will behave for a couple of weeks. Not positive, but thinking this started after the last flash, not positive.

Re: Will not Boot
If the system works fine for several weeks after reseating componets, and then fails, this would not be a ROM problem. You may have a board or connection that is effected by heat or a cable that is pulled very tight and works is way loose causing the system to fail. First see the Maintenance and Service guide at this web address.

If you have a heat related problem, run the Compaq diagnostics in a loop over night and see if a failure can be determined. You can download the Compaq server diagnostics from this web address.
http://www5.compaq.com/support/techpubs/maintenance_guides/219470-001.html
Open the system, then unplug and reseat all cards, cables and connections. Make sure the processors, processor power modules and memory are all fully installed. Also make sure the covers are completly close, so that the cover interlocks will allow the system to power up. If you are unable to determine the nature of the reported problem, open a warranty service call with Compaq technical support at 1-800-652-6672.
