TSL-10000 not seen by ntbackup.exe

Our ML370 has a TSL-10000 DDS4 autoloader. We've never used it as we have a DLT drive on another server. We now want to use this and ntbackup refuses to see the drive. I've updated the driver to 1.01A (http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/download/9538.html). The OS sees it and it's listed in Device Manager under tapes but when I start ntbackup it won't see the drive. My only option is to backup to file on disk. Any ideas?
