Unable to Boot from Legacy Mode
Have a DL380 G10 and unable to boot from legacy where the bootable usb is not recognized
cheked the bootable usb on few other servers and was able to boot from it
tried setting the boot mode to legacy, disabled secure boot/uefi shell but no lcuk
if I connected a UEFI bootable usb and boot from legacy mode, it reads the usb and gives the warning that the usb was created on uefi,
want to restrore an image which i took from another server, unfirtunately it was on legacy

Re: Unable to Boot from Legacy Mode
Try putting your USB thumb on the USB on the backplate. I was having issues for botting up my G8 from the front usb port.
When you select F11 to Boot options does it gives you the option to boot from USB KeyDrive?
Have you checked if that server USB is disabled on boot?

Re: Unable to Boot from Legacy Mode
Try using the HP Boot Image assistant when powering it on. I forgot the shortcut for it now, but you might be able to do it through there, or even through your Bios and selecting the USB as one off.

Re: Unable to Boot from Legacy Mode
Hi,
What are you trying to install using the bootable USB ?
Try rufus bootable USB creator and test the USB boot.
Verify by connecting the USB to the onboard USB ports.

Re: Unable to Boot from Legacy Mode
If none of the steps works, request you to raise a warranty ticket with HPE Support.

Re: Unable to Boot from Legacy Mode
Hi @davidmill Try creating your USB drive using BalenaEtcher balenaEtcher - Flash OS images to SD cards & USB drives
I've recently managed to install proxmox on my Gen9 by using BalenaEtcher successfully, but I had issues with Rufus.
It is all about the way that the image is done with Rufus.
Also, ensure that you are pressing the correct key combination for the Boot menu, I think mine was F11, then select option 3 for a single time usb boot. Verify which one is the option for you
Give it a try and let us know
