Unable to install Windows 2000 (Advanced) Server in HP Proliant DL145 G3

Hi - I am trying to install Windows 2000 Advanced Server with SP4 in DL145 G3 server, which has a PCI based LSI Logic Storage Controller 1068 with two 80GB hot-pluggable SATA drives attached to it.

DL145 G3 config:

Two AMD Opteron processor Model 2220 (or 2210, I forgot) with 4GB RAM wit latest system and storage controller firmware.

I mirrored these two drives and trying to install the Win2K OS. The installation is failing with Stop Error: 0x50 as stated in below the MS article

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/171003

The following are drivers that I have tried for this array controller.

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/storage/us/download/25824.html
http://www.lsi.com/storage_home/products_home/standard_product_ics/sas_ics/lsisas1068/index.html

And when I used the Win2K3 driver downloaded from the HP Link

http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/26994.html to install Windows 2000 Advanced server, I get the error "lsi_sas.sys could not be found" and the setup stalls.

I have tried slipstreaming the driver and loading the driver from HP USB floppy disk, in both cases the setup failed.

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

the forst error you reported seems to be referred to a memory fault.
not referred to the raid controller...

I missed something?

bye.

Initially, I thought it was to do with memory, so I removed a bank of memory and a CPU, then proceeded with the installation, but it was not of any help.

may be also a problem referred to the CPU's cache and the L2 cache.
you have to try to disable the cache also.

How do I disable the CPU Cache ? I am unable to find this option in the BIOS.

I still have not been able to install Windows 2000 OS in this hardware. So I installed Windows 2003 server instead. The case I opened with HP was closed as "Unresolved"
