Running a DL360G9 and I get the following error code in IML:
Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception (Board 0, Processor 1, APIC ID 0x00000004, Bank 0x00000000, Status 0xB2000000'000A0005, Address 0x00000000'00000000, Misc 0x00000000'00000000)
Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception (Board 0, Processor 2, APIC ID 0x00000040, Bank 0x00000013, Status 0xEA200000'0018110A, Address 0x00000000'FE1C7A40, Misc 0xACF60450'80183886)
This happens if the machine tries to boot from any source (USB drive, PXE, hard drive) in Legacy mode and reboots straight afterwards (So it's a continues bootloop).
If I reset the BIOS and the standard settings with UEFI boot are restored the UEFI boot works without the errors. If I switch back to Legacy, I get the error messages.
I have several other servers with identical setup which run without problem.
Can I assume it really is a bad CPU and should I open a RMA case with HPE?

Re: Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception
With the limited information issue seems tagged to processor faults, but expecting two processors to go bad at rare, would recommend minimum configuration with 1 proc/ no PCIe devices and storage cable unplugged to isolate issue to board and processor.
If physiscal access is a gate, disabling the PCIe devices including the storage controller in the ROM (F9 menu) can assist in decreasing possible triggers of fault.
Refer HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 Server Maintenance and Service Guide:
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=c04441985&docLocale=en_US
Opening a case with HPE support with AHS log for additional data debug is recommended, if above steps were performed or need further assistance.

Re: Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception
As per HPE Integrated Management Log error messages, this is under the 'Uncorrectable error' event type. The proposed solution is CPU replacement. Please refer to the below link for more details.
