I have a ml370 with a 3200 smart array controller. I want to replace the 2nd array which just stores data with 4 new 36gb drives. Do I just pull out the 9 gigs put in the 36 boot into smart start and recreate the second array and then restore the data? The server is running nt 4 sp6 so is there any problems with nt4 seeing the larger array afterwards?

Solution
Hello Joshua,
Please make sure you have a full backup of the system first. Just pull the 9GB hdds out and then run ACU and delete the second array and then recreate the array with 36.4GB hdds. Please also update the firmware of SA3200 controller from the following link:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/14694.html
Even though the Softpaq will prompt for 4 diskettes just make the very first one 'cos that's the one you need.
All the best,
