upgrade disk capacity on aa array

We have a Proliant 7000 with a hardware raid 5 array in an expansion cabinet running off a smart-2dh raid controller. We wish to upgrade this to 4 x 36gb array from a 4 x 9gb array. The documentation says that this can be done by failing a disk, removing it and then replacing it with a new disk, waiting for it to restripe and then doing the next. After all is complete, the additional space can configured using the raid configuration utility. Has anyone done this on an 7000 running Sco Unix ? Any info much appreciated.

Re: upgrade disk capacity on aa array

Since the array controller is independant of the operating system, this procedure will be the same under Unix, NetWare, NT, etc. After the restripe of all drives is complete, you will need to use the array configuration utility to create a new logical drive, then format that new logical drive from within SCO.
