upgrade memory on proliant 1500

Hello, I'm trying without success to upgrade the memory of my proliant 1500. I have 64 MB original compaq memory and will add 32 MB from Kingston. Also, when I run the configuration utility to manually add this memory, and then reboots, the system stops after testing the first 81 MB (of 96 MB). I think I'm making badness, but where ?

Doesn't sound like you're doing something wrong. I've seen many issues caused by using third party memory in Proliant servers.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: upgrade memory on proliant 1500

Well, seems I MUST buy memory from Compaq ! Not a good thing for me, since those parts are very expensive for a student like me. (it's an old server, but works fine with Linux Debian !!)

Thanks for the answer.

I have some Compaq RAM from a ProLiant 1500 server, that I no longer need. Where are you in France?

Re: upgrade memory on proliant 1500

Hi.
I'm living near from Paris, in Seine et Marne (77). If you can sell (or give) me memory, I would be happy !! ( and other parts, why not)
Thanks
