I've just taken delivery of a brand new HPE MicroServer Gen10 Plus v2, and the first thing I did was check in Intelligent Provisioning for any firmware updates.
Sure enough, it found an update for itself - "Gen10/Gen10 Plus Provisioning and BMC Full Update v3.88"
I went through the process and installed, but now it won't boot back into Intelligent Provisioning properly - IP opens, starts the "self update" process, but then seems to freeze on a screen of DOS-like text, with the last line reading "Unable to locate instance for #logservice.".
Any suggestions as to how I can get past this?

SolutionHi,
Does the server complete POST and does it try to boot into OS?
Is the issue only with IP when you try to enter into IP?
Try Disable/Enable of IP from UEFI menu.
You may also Reinstall or Upgrade Intelligent Provisioning (IP) on ProLiant Gen8/Gen9/Gen10/Gen10 Plus Servers.
We also have some videos for your help.
Thank You!

Re: Upgrading Intelligent Provisioning failed on new Microserver
The server completes POST, in fact I've managed to install Windows Server 2022 on it successfully (with loading the Intel VROC drivers manually during setup).
Will have a look at your suggestions and report back. Didn't know IP could be reinstalled, I'll give that a go.
Thanks!

Re: Upgrading Intelligent Provisioning failed on new Microserver
Just confirming that reinstalling Intelligent Provisioning from a disc image worked like a charm. Thanks for your help!

Re: Upgrading Intelligent Provisioning failed on new Microserver
Make sure to use the HP USB Key Tool if you burn to a USB:
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/swd/detail?swItemId=MTX_360731071b404454b454390208
Otherwise you'll spend all afternoon trying every different version of the Intelligent Provisioning Recovery Media as it will complete and make no difference if you use other USB ISO tools!

Re: Upgrading Intelligent Provisioning failed on new Microserver
This is an absolutely terrible solution. Has HP forgotten how to write firmware?
