You will excuse me if my posting is incorrect as I have not posted here before.
I have just purchased a second hand Proliant ML370 G1 FD71 server. I am wondering if someone can point me in the right direction as to where I can locate a user manual for this server? (Ive never used a server before and am using it for home use - and I cant seem to find what I need on here). A mainboard diagram would be helpful too. Thanks all.

Maybe you can find some useful docs here:

You can use SmartStart 5.50 CD to install OS on this server:

Do you have SmartArray controller on this server?

Re: user manual needed
thanks for the help. I wont be picking up the server for a few days so as yet I dont know what is on it as far as SmartArray is concerned. Ive had a look at the info supplied by the seller but nothing is listed. I will try to copy the info over in a few secs

Re: user manual needed
from information your post server doesn't have SmartArray controller (with SmartArray controller you can implement hardware RAID, but for home use you don't need it)
Anyway, start with server firmware update. Boot from Firmware Maintenance CD
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23331.html
to execute scan hardware and update.
After firmware upgrade you can install OS by using SmartStart 5.50 CD or without SmartStart CD (just boot from OS installation CD)
Attached "Compaq Proliant server deployment and management guide" (I cannot find this document on HP site, so I attached it)
Regards, Igor
