I have an issue when try to move vm's from one cluster to another, from c7000 to Synergy.
Both servers are Gen 10, Bl460Gen 10 to SY460 Gen10+
The first suceed test was, create one vm on older cluster and then move to the new one, without any problem, when we try whit productions vm's whit diferente versions w2016 ou w2019 we always have that error.
The only suceed way is offline, any clue about this error?
Best Regards

Re: Virtual machine migration operation failed at migration source
Hi
Try to stop and start the VMMS (virtual machine manager service) on both source and destination hosts.
Then delete the virtual machine files on destination host.
Then try to move the VMs again and verify.
Also, explain "The only way to succeed is offline"

The offline mode is, shutdown the vm, and move offline.

Re: Virtual machine migration operation failed at migration source
Hi,
There isn't any difference at the hardware level when you move the VM offline or online. I don't think there is any hardware issues. I recommend you to try the above workaround or engage the OS team for further assistance.

SolutionThe theme was in the datastore pointer, which should have been the full path and not just the one that appears by default in the process, after placing the correct path in the 3 locations the theme was outdated, thank you all for your help.
