Anyone actively using these DL560 G9's in Vmware 5.5 or 6.0? If so, have you exprienced any issues? Any overheating issues?
We currently have DL560 G8's, but were entertaining the thought of possibly starting to purchase the DL560 G9's. Just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with these guys running in VMware.
Thank you
Javier

SolutionHello @jgonzalez
According to the HP Servers Support & Certification Matrices site the HP ProLiant DL560 Gen9 is compatible with VMware ESXi Server, supports HP ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware vSphere 6.0 version 2.2 and forward.
Successful installation of the VMware operating system requires either the HP custom ESXi image or an OS image can be created with VMware's ImageBuilder application that has, at minimum, appropriate device drivers to support the boot controller and at least one network device in the server. A list of drivers included in the HP Custom Image is available here.
You may also benefit from talking to an HP Server expert for configuration options. I am happy to connect you with the correct HP Server expert, let me know if that is a direction you would like to go.
