What are SC Drives?
Hi,
What is the difference between these two drives apart from "SC" in the title and what does SC stand for?
Thanks

Re: What are SC Drives?
Good question!
Maybe the Gen8/Gen9 drives with a "smart carrier", the HPE Smartdrives.
But I don't know for sure ...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: What are SC Drives? Drives with a SmartDrive Carrier!
"The new Generation 8 carriers are not compatible to older installations.
The only differentiator of the new drives is a SC (SmartDrive Carrier) in the part description. HPE SmartDrive Carrier, which proactively warns against data loss when removing a drive."
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c00305257
I found also SCC - smart carrier converter:
This is a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" carrier.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
