What are the raidcard replacement steps?

Server :HPE ProLiant XL420 Gen10
Raidcard: smart array P840

my server's card failed, it doesn't work at all, I removed the same model card from another device and I will change it.

will it automatically detect my old raid settings when I insert the new card?

If there is another raid setting in the new card, do I need to reset it?

what steps should I follow?

Hello,

The array configuration is stored on each of the drives that are configured into an array. When you attach the drives to the replacement controller (assuming it is the same model controller) it will detect the configuration and import it into the controller.
