What is the recommended RAID with SSD NVMe?

Hello,

I searched the net and where I found two different opinions about RAID with SSD.

With SSD RAID 5 is fine and no need to go for RAID 10 to get better performance.

https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1471813-raid-5-vs-raid-10-for-ssd-s-in-2016

Other articles claiming that RAID 5 is deprecated and should not be used in new arrays anymore.

However, I did not find any articles speaking about the recommended RAID with NVMe.

Could you please advise.

Re: What is the recommended RAID with SSD NVMe?

NVMe drives are attached to the PCIe interface directly and do not have a dedicated hardware RAID engine similar to SAS controllers, therefore, RAID is only supported through the operating system software (e.g., Windows mirror, Linux MD, etc.).
