Re: What's the difference between 6i & 6402 to DL380? Thanks!
If you have a DL380 G4 it ships with an embedded dual channel U320 Smart Array 6i Plus controller with 64MB of RAM
This controller has a 64-bit/133MHz PCI-X system interface and controls up to 14 devices per channel for up to 2TB per logical volume and supports RAID modes, 0, 1, 1+ 0, and 5.
Smart Array 6402 - has 2 channels,64 bit, 133 MHz PCI-X PCI Bus, 3.3 Volt PCI, 128 MB read-write, raid levels supported 0,1,1+0,5 and Advanced Data Guarding (RAID ADG). The SA 6400 takes a daughter card this provides an additional external two ports.
hope this answers your queries !

Re: What's the difference between 6i & 6402 to DL380? Thanks!
Shoul I take in the meaning of 6402 having more ports to select and could be used for ADG? In the document you introduced "Worldwide QuickSpecs of HP Smart Array 641 Controller",what's the "controller performance" meaning for? speed or stability?
Was 6i not as good as 6402 in performance?

Re: What's the difference between 6i & 6402 to DL380? Thanks!
1.Should I take in the meaning of 6402 having more ports to select and could be used for ADG?
ADG depends on the number of hard disks available, minimum is 6 and also its a controller feature.
2.In the document you introduced "Worldwide QuickSpecs of HP Smart Array 641 Controller",what's the "controller performance" meaning for? speed or stability?
Speed, because the use of BBWC enhances io performance.
3.Was 6i not as good as 6402 in performance?
Well,6400 is a high end controller.Definitely its better than 6i controller.
Also it depends on the user's requirement.
For high io activity, crtical applications, 6400 controller is preferred.
