Cache module replacement on SA P410 controller
Hi all,
Is it possible to replace the cache module on the controller? It's a Microserver Gen8 with a PCIe Smart Array P410 controller. I have just bought a 1GB module with a battery in order to have a RAID 5 in the future instead of RAID 1 atm. Got a backup of my files but when I swapped the module the server wouldn't start with the LED flashing red like when there is a fault. There was still one RAID 0 array in the setup. Thanks, pepe

Re: Cache module replacement on SA P410 controller
The server flashing the red bar for a fault is probably something other than the cache module on the P410 card. Possibly pinched a wire or unseated another component when you removed the system board shelf to access the PCIe slot. You say you swapped the module, what did you swap? If your P410 already had a module you should have been able to create a RAID 5

Re: Cache module replacement on SA P410 controller
Hello Pepe.
Have you found a solution for this problem? I have the exact same problem but I upgraded from a 256 MB cache module with no battery to an 1GB with battery. I tried to disconnect the battery and even the disks. When I put the 256 GB module back it worked again.
Thanks
Alex
