HPE Gen8 Microserver fails to boot ESXI installed on a SDD on DVD port after adding a disk
Hello,
I'm trying to figure out why my HPE Gen8 Microserver refuses to boot on ESXI after adding a disk.
The ESXI 7.0 is installed on a SSD connected on the 5th SATA port of the server. I installed it without any other disk in the server, and it works perfectly. But if I add a disk in any bay, the boot sequence jump the SSD and try to boot on the clean disks (which contain no OS obviously), even if I force the boot to DVD.
Did I miss something in the boot order settings, or the SATA settings ? (I configured it in legacy since ESXI doesn't support the B120i software raid of the HPE Gen8)
Thanks for your help!

Re: HPE Gen8 Microserver fails to boot ESXI installed on a SDD on DVD port after adding a disk
Hello,
The OS you have installed (Esxi 7) is not a Compatible/ not recommended by HPE on this Server.
Please try and install a compatible OS with all Drives installed.
Please find below link to check OS compatibility:
