E800: cpu, memory, motherboard
Dear All,
We bought this server in december with a 733-cpu. Wat want two cpu's, but we can't get this one. I know the motherboard is an Asus Cur-Dls with a ServerWorks ServerSet III LE 3.0 chipset. If I look at the specs from HP and Asus, I see soome differences.
1: supported mem is 2GB by HP and 4GB by Asus.
2. Asus supports 500MHzs-1GHz+ cpu and HP doesn't.
I'd like to know if HP has changed something on the motherboard, or can I believe the specs of Asus? Is it possible to change the 733 for two 1GHz cpu's?
Also the mem: I looked at Kingston.com for 256. I need the hp D8266A, but specially for the cur-dls Kingston offers KVR133X72RC3/256, which is less than half the price of the hp-mem. Can I use that memory?
Is anybody familiar with this server and motherboard? I'm very gratefull with any help.
Best regards,
Alex Goudriaan

Re: E800: cpu, memory, motherboard
I have a Netserver e 800 that I run with dual 1.o GHz processors. After installing the processecors, I received a bios error, but I cleared it by flasing the bios with the latest version available on HP's website.
