LX Pro PCI Video Card Problem
I am having trouble installing a PCI Video Card in an LX Pro. When I install the card in a PCI slot the video is unavailable on both the new PCI card and the onboard Video. Also, when the PCI video card is installed the system has one long beep followed by 3 short beeps during boot. Does anyone know the steps to install a PCI video card in an LX Pro? I have tried the flowing steps:
I turn off and on the onboard video using the ECU and get the same results.
I have tried 2 different PCI Video Cards
I have cleared the CMOS and flashed the BIOS.
Thanks in advance
-Jim

Re: LX Pro PCI Video Card Problem
Video cards are not supported in this server. There isn't an available jumper to disable the onboard video.

Re: LX Pro PCI Video Card Problem
I found a solution. The problem is that you must register the card in the CMOS using the ECU before physically installing the card. Once I logically added the card to a PCI slot using the .cfg file, I disabled the onboard video in the CMOS saved the configuration, physically installed the PCI Video card and it worked fine.
Video cards are supported and there are no jumpers to disable the onboard Video you must use the ECU to disable the onboard Video in the CMOS.

Re: LX Pro PCI Video Card Problem
I to had problems. However This sever will support external video card without you having to do anything?
I could not find any information on the HP site how to do this. However since HP used Intel motherboards I went to the Intel site and discoverd that the video card has to be installed in PCI slot 1-3 only, it will not work in the others.
I was trying PCI 6 and got the same error you got.
I drop the card into 1 and presto everything works.
